1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the GreekIRC network (irc.greekirc.net), website (greekirc.net), and any related services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

These terms apply to all users, including unregistered guests, registered users, and channel operators.

2. Eligibility

To use GreekIRC, you must:

Be at least 13 years of age
Not be previously banned from the network
Comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws
Provide accurate information when requested by network staff

Some channels may impose higher age requirements (16+, 18+). Users found to be underage will be removed.

3. User Conduct

You agree not to:

Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users
Share or distribute spam, flood channels, or send unsolicited messages
Share personal information of others without their consent (doxxing)
Distribute malicious software, viruses, or harmful code
Share copyrighted material without authorization
Use the network for any illegal purpose
Attempt to disrupt, attack, or gain unauthorized access to network infrastructure
Impersonate network staff or other users
Operate unauthorized bots or automated scripts
Circumvent bans or other disciplinary actions
Post sexually explicit, graphic, or disturbing content in public channels

4. Nicknames and Channels

4.1 Nickname Registration

Users may register nicknames through NickServ. You are responsible for:

Maintaining the security of your nickname password
All activity performed under your registered nickname
Choosing a nickname that is not offensive, impersonating, or misleading

Network staff reserve the right to drop nicknames that violate these terms or have been inactive for an extended period.

4.2 Channel Registration

Users may register channels through ChanServ. Channel founders are responsible for:

Moderating their channel in accordance with network rules
Appointing responsible channel operators
Ensuring channel content complies with network policies

The network reserves the right to close channels that violate these terms.

5. Content

GreekIRC is a communication platform. You are solely responsible for the content you transmit.

We do not monitor all channels or private messages in real time
We reserve the right to monitor public channels for rule enforcement
We are not responsible for user-generated content
We may remove content or restrict users who violate these terms

6. Service Availability

GreekIRC is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
We may perform maintenance, modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time
We are not liable for any loss resulting from service interruptions

7. Enforcement

Violations of these terms may result in:

Verbal or written warnings
Removal from a channel (kick)
Temporary network ban (ranging from 24 hours to 30 days)
Permanent network ban
Removal of registered nicknames or channels
Reporting to relevant law enforcement authorities for serious violations

7.1 Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by:

Joining #help on IRC and speaking with an IRC operator
Submitting an appeal via our contact form
Including your nickname, the reason for your ban, and why you believe it is unjust

Appeals are typically reviewed within 48-72 hours.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

GreekIRC and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service
We are not responsible for the conduct of users on the network
We are not liable for any loss of data, content, or nickname registrations
You use GreekIRC at your own risk

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GreekIRC, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.

10. Modifications

GreekIRC reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Significant changes may also be announced via network-wide notices or in the #help channel.

11. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Greece. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of GreekIRC shall be resolved in the courts of Athens, Greece.
